This folder contains various printed programs, questionnaires, reports, etc., which Ira M. DeLong collected during his tenure as professor of mathematics at the University of Colorado from 1888 to 1925. He was active in university administration and served as C.U.'s representative to the state legislature, in addition to his responsibilities as head of the mathematics department.

The papers in this collection were originally in the Israel K. Tefft autograph collection. Tefft, one of the founders of the Georgia Historical Society in 1839, amassed on of the largest collections of autographs in the world. The collection was sold at auction in New York in 1866. Dr. Ira M. DeLong was closely involved in the government of the city of Boulder, Colo. He was active in the establishment and operation of Boulder's city manager form of municipal government, which was somewhat of a novelty at the time. DeLong was president of a 23-member commission that drafted the city charter and constitution in 1917.
